Me visiting the 5,000 year old Mnajdra Temple
First Visit: April 2017
My Country #66
Last week, I was able to visit Malta for the first time together with Mike where we had an absolutely wonderful time exploring the capital city of Valletta as well as the southern part of the island, visiting the traditional fishing village of Marsaxlokk as well as the two famous temples dating back from 3200BC. The weather was nice, the food was great and the people were very friendly so if you're planning a trip to the Maltese islands, here are some of my travel tips:
Saint John's Co-Cathedral: Inside the church, you'd find the famous painting of Michelangelo Caravaggio, aside from the extravagant chapels and frescoes so for an entrance fee of 10 €, this is definitely a must when in Malta.
A video tour inside the Saint John's Co-Cathedral 😉
Hagar Qim: This 5,000 year old ancient temple ruin located in the southern part of the country is older than the Stonehenge.
Mnajdra Temple: Located a few hundred meters from Hagar Qim is the Mnajdra Temple waiting for visitors to be explored.
Marsaxlokk: This traditional fishing village located in the south-eastern part of the island is simply gorgeous and captivating with it's numerous restaurants offering seafood dishes 😋
Here's a short video I took while visiting Marsaxlokk
Palace Armoury
Saint George's Square
New Parliament Building
Pjazza Teatru Rjal (Royal Opera House)
Fort Saint Elmo
Saint Publius Parish Church
Floriana Heritage Trail
Shopping district in Valletta: There are lots of shops and restaurants here so you'll definitely have a great time in the Old Town.
Bibliothek Building
National Museum of Archeology
Fort Saint Angelo
Parish Church of Jesus of Nazareth
Taking any of the many ferry cruises
Valletta Waterfront: A beautiful water front with shopping complex and restaurants 👍
Blue Grotto
A visit to Vittoriosa for its historical Fort St. Angelo and the Church of Saint Lawrence among others
Enjoying any of the wonderful beaches in the island
Typical Maltese balconies
Luzzu, a typical fishing boat in Malta is also for tourists to enjoy 😉
Enjoying the local food like the Pastizzi and Imqaret 😋
